Akai S612 12-bit sampler, with GoTek-equipped MD280
The Akai S612 is a vintage 12-bit digital sampler released in 1985 as one of Akai's first professional rack-mount samplers. It's 4 to 32KHz sampling rate, variable low-pass filter and LFO function, usable on whatever is sampled, make it a great option for giving your samples the classic LoFi sound. This S612 comes with the Akai MD280 drive unit, giving the user access to permanent storage of samples. But instead of the outdated Quick Disk system that was used in the original unit, we've modified this MD280 to use a GoTek drive which lets you save, store, and load samples from the included USB thumb drive.
