About this model

The MOTU 828 Mk2 is a FireWire 400 audio interface built around a comprehensive I/O spec: eight analog inputs - including two front-panel combination mic/instrument inputs with trim, phantom power, and pad, plus six rear-panel line inputs - and ten analog outputs covering eight line outputs and a dedicated stereo main pair. Digital connectivity extends to ADAT optical (eight channels at 44.1/48 kHz, four at 88.2/96 kHz), stereo S/PDIF via both coaxial RCA and optical, and MIDI I/O. The unit records at up to 96 kHz and 24-bit resolution, and features CueMix DSP for zero-latency hardware monitoring, LED metering across all inputs and outputs, Word Clock I/O, SMPTE sync, and a physical master level control for the main and headphone outputs. Two FireWire ports allow daisy-chaining additional devices in a larger rig.
