Beautiful early-era Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection R8 from 2001, featuring a attractive heavily figured lemon burst flame maple top. Has a chunky C neck measures around 24mm at 1st fret and 26.5mm at 12th
Due to life circumstances change I have to let some of my guitar collections go. This guitar is in pristine condition seen very little playtime shown almost no sign of wear. It's sitting in the case in the last 10+ years in a climate controlled room. Smoke and pet free. Due to the age one of the volume pot has some noise while turning. I did not dig into it since I'm not playing guitars that much in recent years.
Unlike the predominantly plain-top R8s seen in later years, Gibson produced figured-top R8s during this period, making these early examples especially interesting today. The flame on this guitar has a classic, understated vintage appearance that changes nicely depending on the viewing angle and lighting.
