NEX Body

This original Takamine body is a scaled-down Jumbo at heart. The NEX has a silky balance to the tone that supports vocals beautifully.

GLN11E NS

The GLN11E strikes a fine balance between power and simplicity with solid tonewood selections and gig-ready electronics. This guitar’s NEX body is easily its defining feature. This original Takamine body slightly reduces the size of a jumbo acoustic — its sound and power rival that of a dreadnought, but with a more balanced overall feel. It’s a great pick for songwriters, solo performers, and players in need of an all-purpose guitar without bulky dreadnought heft. The GLN11E’s top, back, and sides are all crafted from okoume, a quality affordable hardwood that sonically falls between maple and mahogany. The resulting sound is rustic, rootsy, and full. Playability is easy up and down the neck, thanks to Takamine’s slim profile mahogany neck and the softened feel of a shorter scale (630mm compared to the more common 645mm scale). Musicians looking to gig and record will also be pleased with this guitar’s TP-3G electronics, which provide a classic amplified acoustic sound plus a built-in chromatic tuner and EQ for tweaking tone to taste.

Features:

• NEX-style acoustic-electric with a shortened scale length
• 630mm scale yields a warmer sound with silky string action that’s perfect for fingerpicking
• Okoume top, back, and sides deliver rustic, rootsy tone with robust clarity
• Jumbo-inspired NEX body gives the full sound of a dreadnought but with a more balanced overall feel
• Low-gloss natural satin finish lends an old-school vibe and stunning looks
• TP-3G electronics with built-in chromatic tuner and 3-band EQ
• Dovetail jointed mahogany neck with a slim profile for comfortable playing across many musical styles
• Jatoba fingerboard with a 12-inch radius and 21 frets
