A beautiful Columbine tenor banjo from OME, a banjo maker based in Boulder, Colorado, at the time. The instrument dates from 1994 and bears the serial number ST3740GC on the inside of the body.
The neck and body, crafted from West Indian rosewood, as well as the engraved and gold-plated hardware, are the hallmarks of this OME model. The sound is powerful, balanced, and versatile, making this banjo a favorite for players of all styles.
Length 87 cm, scale length 56.5 cm, nut width 29 mm, head diameter 11"
The banjo shows various signs of age and wear, such as minor scratches (especially on the resonator) and scuffs. The gold plating is heavily worn in places (especially on the armrest). The ebony fingerboard has been refretted; the frets are brand new! The transparent Remo head and a new Deering bridge ensure a crisp sound. The string action is set nice and low.
The banjo comes ready to play with CGDA stringing in a standard case; the gold-plated wrench is included.
