1945 Martin D-28 is a work of art. It sports an incredible bookmatched Brazilian rosewood back, a wonderful Adorondack top and Herringbone binding. This guitar sounds huge. It plays fantastic. And the brazilian grain is to die for. There are two bookmatched cracks in the grain patern on the back shown in photos. These are stable and have been the same for years. Of all the Martins we have had come through our shop this is our favorite. Absolutely wonderful instrument. Comes with an eighties Martin hard shell case. Amazing find.

There is a scratch on the top of the instrument. This is not crack. At some point in its long life it has a tailpiece installed so there are 3 small holes at the butt of the guitar above the end pin. The bridge is replaced and also has a screw through it shown in the internal bridge plate picture. Bridge plate is original and braces are intact. The neck has been oversprayed behind the fingerboard but the headtsock and heel are original finish. Body is original finish. Typical crack by the pickguard. And double line Klusons. Overal an outstanding instrument from the end of the golden era of Martin. Stellar guitar.
