DYNACORD VRS 23 Vertical REVERBERATION SYSTEM

Dynacord VRS-23 — Vintage Analog BBD Delay / Reverb

For sale is a vintage Dynacord VRS-23 Vertical Reverberation System, a very cool and increasingly sought-after piece of German analog studio gear from the early 1980s.

The VRS-23 is a fully analog Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) delay/reverb, with a distinctive warm, organic and slightly grainy character that is very difficult to reproduce with modern digital effects.

It offers both Delay/Echo and Reverb modes, with selectable delay times from very short settings up to approximately 400 ms, plus modulation controls that can create beautiful chorus, doubling and flanger-type effects. The delay can also be pushed into more experimental territory, with the characteristic pitch movement and saturation that make vintage BBD units so interesting.

The VRS-23 has a unique sound — warm, slightly imperfect and full of character. It works beautifully on vocals, synthesizers, guitars, drums and electronic instruments, and is especially interesting for dub, ambient, experimental and vintage-style production.

This is one of those pieces of vintage German equipment that has developed a strong following among people who appreciate the character of old analog effects. The combination of BBD technology, stereo outputs and modulation makes it much more than just a conventional delay.
