The body features a Grand Concert shape that is easy to hold and handle. Despite its compact size, it produces clear, articulate single notes and is versatile enough to handle everything from delicate fingerpicking to lively chord strumming.

The guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top and solid sapele back and sides. The clear, resonant tone characteristic of spruce is complemented by the warmth and well-defined midrange of the sapele, resulting in a well-balanced sound.

Furthermore, the body shape with a cutaway design ensures playability in the higher positions. Combined with Taylor's signature smooth neck feel, this is a versatile instrument suitable for any genre.

The pickup system features the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2). When connected to an amplifier or PA system, it outputs a natural sound that brings out the guitar's inherent resonance, making it ideal for a wide range of situations, including live performances and recordings.
