The Guyatone LG-65T is a classic 1960s "kitschy" Japanese electric guitar known for its lightweight slab body, raw garage-rock tone, and distinctively narrow string spacing.

Key Specifications

• Body: Lightweight lauan (Philippine mahogany) slab body, weighing around 2.4kg to 2.6kg (4.4 to 5.7 lbs).
• Neck: Bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard (typically 20 to 22 frets) and a 628mm (24.75-inch) medium scale length.
• Electronics: Dual medium-output single-coil pickups controlled by individual volume knobs, a master tone, and rocker/slider switches for pickup selection or solo/rhythm modes.
• Hardware: Floating plastic or wooden-style bridge and a Jaguar-style vibrato/tremolo tailpiece.

Sound and VibeThe LG-65T delivers bright, jangly clean tones that break up easily when pushed.

Due to its microphonic single-coil pickups and resonant lightweight body, it produces a raw, garage-rock edge that interacts nicely with distortion for controllable indie-rock feedback.

It shares a similar aesthetic and lineage with export brands of the era like the Kent 530 / Copa.
