Product Details

A Fender Jazz Bass from 1966 has arrived, with all components dating to the same period.

The neck end is stamped "7 APR 66 A," the Stackpole 250kĦ potentiometer in the control section is marked "304-6617," and the rear pickup has a handwritten date of "6-9-66," confirming that the neck, electronics, and pickups are all from 1966.

The neck features a rosewood fingerboard with binding and dot inlays, a transitional specification typical of the first half of 1966.

It has an A width of approximately 38.1mm at the nut, providing the slim grip characteristic of a Jazz Bass.

Both the front and rear pickups are mid-1960s Fender Gray Bobbin type.

While the date on the front pickup is illegible, the bobbin shape and cloth-wire specifications are consistent with those of the same period.

The body and headstock surface have been refinished.

While not the original finish, this bass retains key components confirming its 1966 manufacture date, making it an excellent choice for those who want to experience the feel of a vintage Jazz Bass through actual playing.
