Owned by veteran Bay Area record producer Scott Mathews: this vintage Neumann U87 condenser microphone, from approximately 1979, was well taken-care-of in his private recording studio. This mic sounds great, is fully functional, and was used on sessions with Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Sammy Hagar, and the Beach Boys.
Three selectable polar patterns: omni, cardioid, and figure-8. −10dB pad, switchable bass rolloff, 48V phantom required.
The microphone was his go-to microphone for vocals, horns, guitars, and other instruments for many years. The mic comes with the shock-mount cage.
