A very clean and all-original 1985 Fender Japan Contemporary Telecaster HH in pewter (sometimes mistakenly called stunning silver) in Excellent condition.
This model was an import from the FujiGen factory in Japan during the 3-year period when Fender didn't even have a USA factory. It's very much a reflection of the more modern, metal and forward-looking vibe of the mid-80s. These guitars were only made from 1985 - 1987 and this is from the inaugural year.
Features include:
Dual humbucker (HH) pickups with coil tap
Locking Schaller tremolo
12" fingerboard radius (flatter than the typical 7.25" and 9.5" radii, and popular with modern rock and metal players)
Black Francis of Pixies (pictured above) was perhaps it's most notable player and it is featured famously on their early fan-favorite 'Hey'. You can get that EXACT tone practically just by plugging in!
This one is in marvelous shape with little to no fret wear and almost no cosmetic flaws. Yes, it has the original Schaller System 1 trem arm AND those highly-sought after black Fender witch hat knobs. A fantastic player with a bunch of great sounds, and a truly unique look.
Excellent condition, includes HSC (hardshell case) with key.
