The Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork+ takes pitch shifting well beyond the typical octave-up or octave-down effect, giving you two completely independent pitch-shifting engines that can be shaped and blended however you like. Each voice covers a huge three-octave range, along with 99 cents of detuning, so you can create anything from tight harmonies and doubled parts to deep sub-octave layers and wide, detuned textures. Dedicated volume controls for both Shift voices and the dry signal make it easy to keep your original playing intact or build a completely transformed sound.

There is plenty of flexibility in how the Pitch Fork+ behaves, too. Eight modes give you different ways to approach the effect, including LATCH and MOMENTARY operation as well as X-MOD, which uses cross modulation to push the pitch-shifting engines into FM- and ring-mod-style territory. The programmable User footswitch can mute individual Shift voices, jump to presets, or perform other assigned functions, while an expression pedal or CV source can take control of parameters like frequency, glissando, and volume. With 10 factory presets and room for 100 saved programs, you can also keep your favorite sounds ready to recall.

The Pitch Fork+ is just as comfortable in a live setup as it is in a more experimental rig. Its Main and Aux outputs offer multiple routing possibilities, while the optional external foot controller expands hands-free access to modes, sub-menus, and presets. The buffered bypass keeps your signal chain responsive, and the included 9.6V power adapter gets you up and running without having to track down a separate supply. For players who want serious harmonizing power, expressive pitch control, and a way to turn conventional pitch shifting into something much more creative, the Pitch Fork+ is a remarkably deep tool.
