Started life as a classic vibe. The body was stripped and stained and given 6 coats of poly with a buff between each coat for a smooth finish. I wanted it to look like a barn caster but play like butter. Extra attention was given to the set up. The neck was sanded back then polished with wax for a super smooth feel. All the frets were rolled and polished. The ashtray bridge was modified on one side to allow better palm muting. The steel bridge barrels were replaced with aged compensated brass barrels. The intonation is spot on. All the pots and switched were upgraded with CTS and Fender American parts. All the knobs and plates were brush finished to add to the vintage look. Even the strap buttons were replaced with vintage brass buttons. The body has been aged to look like it was built from ancient wood. It’s been a fun project. Be sure to listen to the sound demo.
