From the 1980s onwards, the manufacturer established itself as a leading name among rock and metal guitarists, thanks in particular to its legendary RG series. With their ultra-thin necks, outstanding ergonomics and high-performance tremolo systems, these guitars left a lasting mark on the history of modern electric guitar design. The Genesis Collection was created specifically to bring back the golden years that made Ibanez an international success, reviving iconic models that remain faithful to the spirit and specifications that made them legendary. The results are particularly impressive: these instruments are manufactured entirely in Japan at the renowned FujiGen factory, with an outstanding level of build quality and finish for their price range. The value for money offered by this collection is simply exceptional for Made in Japan guitars! The RG565R-EB perfectly embodies this philosophy. Directly inspired by the iconic RG models that established Ibanez's reputation in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it features the most distinctive design elements of that era: an aggressive, instantly recognisable body shape, a stunning Electric Blue finish, a reverse headstock and a rosewood fingerboard adorned with the famous Sharktooth inlays. It has that unmistakable appeal of classic Ibanez guitars, with a strong visual identity that will delight both fans of hard rock's golden age and guitarists looking for a highly efficient instrument capable of handling the most demanding styles. The five-piece maple/walnut Super Wizard neck is one of this guitar's major highlights. Its remarkably slim profile, combined with carefully engineered laminated construction, delivers an exceptionally fast and comfortable playing feel. Moving around the fingerboard feels effortless, intricate technical passages become easier to execute, and even extended playing sessions remain comfortable. With 24 jumbo frets, a rosewood fingerboard and a standard 648 mm (25.5") scale length, the RG565R provides everything you need for virtuosic solos, wide bends, legato runs and razor-sharp rhythm playing. You immediately rediscover that sense of freedom that helped make the RG series a favourite among technically demanding guitarists. The basswood body contributes to the instrument's overall balance, delivering an even tonal response with balanced mids and good note definition. Its HH pickup configuration combines an Ibanez Infinity R neck humbucker with a V8 bridge humbucker. This pairing takes you from clear, precise and articulate tones to powerful high-gain sounds, with tightly defined riffs and solos that cut through the mix. The five-way selector also provides several pickup-coil combinations, significantly expanding the guitar's tonal range. It is therefore far more versatile than a guitar designed exclusively for heavy rock and metal: it can also deliver more subtle, cutting sounds when cleaner tones or intermediate pickup combinations are required.Another key feature of the RG565R is its genuine Ibanez Edge tremolo, an iconic system renowned for its precision, smooth operation and tuning stability. Combined with the locking nut and Gotoh tuners, it allows you to explore the full range of expressive tremolo techniques, from subtle pitch variations to spectacular dive bombs, without compromising reliability. This high-quality hardware is a major selling point, recreating the playing feel associated with the great Japanese Ibanez guitars of that era. Here, the tribute to the past goes far beyond appearance: it is reflected in the instrument's construction and in the playing experience itself. The real achievement of the RG565R, however, lies in its price positioning. Offering Japanese craftsmanship from the FujiGen factory, a five-piece Super Wizard neck, an Edge tremolo and Gotoh tuners at this price point is a testament to Ibanez's expertise and to the appeal of the Genesis Collection. While many historically inspired reissues command premium prices, this series gives players access to an authentic Japanese Ibanez inspired by legendary models without requiring the considerably larger investment associated with certain high-end ranges. Genesis is therefore much more than a nostalgic collection: it is a genuine opportunity to rediscover the spirit, feel and performance of the great Ibanez guitars that helped shape electric guitar history. The RG565R-EB is a distinctive, fast and expressive guitar with an impressive specification, combining the timeless aesthetics of the 1980s and 1990s with the demands of modern playing. Whether you're into hard rock, heavy metal and shred, or simply looking for a Japanese guitar with particularly convincing build quality and hardware, this model deserves your attention. A true playing machine with irresistible retro appeal, it brings back a legendary era in Ibanez history while offering outstanding value for money. A rare opportunity to rediscover the DNA of the great Japanese RG guitars without breaking the bank!
