Conn New Wonder II Chu Berry Soprano Sax 1928 - Silver plate

C.G. Conn New Wonder Series II “Chu Berry” Straight Soprano Saxophone – 1928

For sale is a beautiful C.G. Conn New Wonder Series II straight Bb soprano saxophone, serial number 196xxx, dating from 1928.

The New Wonder Series II, commonly known among players and collectors as the “Chu Berry” Conn, represents one of the most desirable periods of C.G. Conn saxophone production. These instruments are highly regarded for their distinctive vintage Conn sound, excellent projection and unmistakable character.

This soprano has been comprehensively restored and is in excellent playing condition.

The instrument has been completely repadded with MusicMedic Soft Feel pads fitted with flat resonators. New corks have been added, and springs have been replaced where necessary. The mechanism has been carefully regulated and adjusted to ensure proper sealing and reliable operation throughout the entire range of the instrument.

The silver-plated finish presents very nicely for an instrument approaching 100 years of age and retains the wonderful appearance and character expected from an original vintage Conn.

As can be seen in the photographs, the instrument presents extremely well, with the classic Conn engraving and beautiful period craftsmanship that make these early American saxophones so desirable.

Most importantly, this is not simply an old collectible saxophone. It has been restored as a fully functional musical instrument and is ready to be played.

A brand-new Protec Pro Pac case is included, providing considerably better protection for the instrument than an original 1920s case. (The original case in fair condition can be included with no extra).
