The OOPEGG Trailbreaker Mark-I, a world-class “Made in Japan” neo-bizarre guitar, has arrived.

This model features a custom Dark Blue Metallic finish.

With a look reminiscent of Italian Bizarre guitars and combined with overwhelming sound and playability, this is a truly new model that deserves to be called a “Neo-Bizarre”!!

Named the Trailbreaker Mark-I, this guitar achieves a one-of-a-kind sound thanks to the meticulous design and carefully selected hardware unique to Japanese craftsmanship.

The body, characterized by its unique shape, is crafted from alder. The neck features a 5-ply construction of maple and walnut with a rosewood fingerboard; despite its medium scale length, the headstock angle provides a solid sense of tension. The neck side is finished with natural binding featuring a flame grain pattern, adding a subtle, high-end touch.

It features a flat 12R radius with 22 medium-jumbo frets; the neck shape is a moderately thick Modern-D, and the back of the neck has a satin urethane matte finish for smooth fingering.

The 3-pickup layout plays a key role in enhancing the guitar’s unique, eccentric vibe.

The pickups consist of Euphoreal Fullham-sized P-90s, a custom single-coil from the same company in the center position, and a custom humbucker in the bridge position, delivering a wide range of sounds. Designed with modern playing styles in mind, these pickups also respond exceptionally well to effects.

The controls are also highly unique. A 3-way pickup selector (Neck, Neck+Bridge, Bridge) is positioned for immediate access at your fingertips; the Master Volume features a treble bleed circuit; and the tone pot incorporates a passive filter, allowing you to select a single-coil-like sound via a push/pull function. Additionally, a 3-way mini switch enables you to toggle the center pickup on/off (Solo, Mix, Off)

The bridge features a Halon 1060 Steel Bridge from the Greek parts brand Halon, and the tailpiece features a Descendant vibrato. Both are pioneering hardware in Japan.

The Halon bridge produces a clear, unmuddy attack and eliminates the problem of strings falling off. The Descendant is a highly acclaimed unit that allows for higher string tension than a standard tailpiece, providing a tight tension feel and minimizing tuning drift caused by whammy bar use.

As for the all-important sound, this guitar is unlike any other, combining the response, resonance, and precision found in high-end instruments while retaining the relaxed character typical of offset guitars. The clean tone, in particular, is overwhelming—you’ll be amazed by a tone you’d never expect from its appearance.

In terms of finer details, the unique tension created by the 2:4 tuning peg configuration and the heel-cut original plate are both highly practical. The more you look at it, the more you’ll appreciate the meticulous design.
