1992 Orville by Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Made exclusively for the Japanese market and uncommon outside its country of origin, this Orville is an official Gibson-licensed guitar and a result of a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor, Yamano Gakki. Named after Gibson's founder Orville Gibson, this long-time discontinued Orville model was crafted at Gibson’s Terada factory.

Differentiated from the standard Orville-branded instruments, the "Orville by Gibson" guitars represented the highest tier of Japanese craftsmanship. Outfitted from the factory with USA Gibson pickups, this particular Orville has a unique pairing, with a '57 Classic PAF in the neck position and Gibson’s “Hot Alnico” 498T in the bridge. Each pickup position yields a distinct sound, with great growl in the bridge position, and a fat, sweet sound at the neck.

Lightweight at 8lbs 8oz, this Les Paul Standard has been setup with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Wine Red finish shows some buckle rash on back which doesn’t show up on the pictures. There is also light pick scuffing on the top, and a number of small dings on the body, largely on the lower bout edge. The gloss on the profile is smooth and clean.
