―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――

As one of Japan’s world-renowned high-end brands, Sugi is supported by many players both in Japan and abroad.

The instruments, which embody CEO Makoto Sugimoto’s long-standing relationships with artists and his expertise in instrument craftsmanship, excel not only in sound but also in playability—a key feature of the brand.

The instrument featured here is a custom model made exclusively for our store.

It is a 5-string version of the flagship NB (Night Breeze) model. While the standard lineup features a 35-inch scale, we deliberately opted for a 34-inch scale and selected a Gotoh 404BO bridge. Combined with an ultra-thin urethane finish, this setup aims to prioritize the richness of the low end achieved through a looser action rather than a tight one.

For the top, we used extra-grade exotic maple, characterized by a grain pattern reminiscent of rippling water. Its characteristic fast response and wide dynamic range, combined with the body wood, result in a well-rounded sound.

The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood. The combination of the alder’s rich, resonant, and warm midrange with the rosewood’s tight bass and mid-to-high frequencies that don’t project too aggressively creates a well-balanced instrument that suits a wide variety of musical genres.

It is equipped with an original single-coil pickup. The sound is characterized by the sharp attack and quick response typical of Sugi.

The “Pink Garnet” body color is designed to bring out the exotic maple grain to its fullest, creating a striking, glamorous appearance.

The inlay features the bat motif, which is also Sugi’s symbol. The result is a guitar that is both simple and luxurious.

The artistic finish is so exquisite that it’s no exaggeration to call it a work of art, and the guitar boasts excellent tonal balance.

Please take this opportunity to try out this top-of-the-line instrument, packed with all the best qualities Sugi has to offer.
