Up for sale is a Roland Fantom-XR 1U rackmount synthesizer and sampler module. Known for its powerful sample-playback synth engine, expansive factory sound library, and 6 SRX expansion slots, the Fantom-XR packs the flagship Fantom-X series into a versatile 1U rack format.

Condition & Technical Note — Display/Screen

• Screen Issue: As is common with the Fantom-XR series, the LCD display is currently failing (exhibiting lines/dimness/fading).
  
• Technical Cause: This issue is typically caused by degradation of the original heat-sealed Flexible Flat Cable (FFC) connecting the display to the board, rather than dead pixels on the glass itself.
  
• My Workaround: I am a working composer so I never had time to attempt any sort of repair. My solution was to move way from the screen altogether. This, understandably won't work for everyone but In lieu of working directly from front screen, I used the Fantom XR Editor software on an older, cheap MacMini. This allowed me to to change and work with the sounds on a much larger screen.

• Cosmetic Condition: Fair to Good overall rack-used condition. Expect minor rack rash on the mounting ears and light surface scuffs on the casing from normal studio rack use.
