PROJECT - NEEDS WORK - PLEASE READ


Vintage Ventura V-1400 Barney Kessel-style hollow-body electric guitar in a beautiful cherry sunburst finish. Made in Japan, most likely during the late 1960s/1970s.

These vintage Ventura guitars were modeled closely after the Gibson Barney Kessel and feature a large double-cutaway hollow body, dual humbuckers, four V/T control knobs, bound body and neck, block fingerboard inlays and distinctive vintage hardware.

This guitar is being sold AS-IS / PROJECT CONDITION due to significant cracking/separation in the neck heel/body joint area. Please examine the close-up photos carefully. The cracking extends around the heel and into the surrounding finish/wood, and the guitar should be inspected and repaired by a qualified guitar repair technician or luthier before regular use.

Cosmetically, the guitar shows age-related wear, scratches, finish wear, hardware oxidation/tarnishing and other signs of use consistent with a vintage instrument.

Includes the vintage fitted hard case shown in the photos. The case also shows considerable age and wear.

Important: Because of the neck-joint damage, this guitar is being offered as a restoration/project instrument. No guarantees are made regarding structural stability, setup, playability or originality of individual components.

A very cool vintage Japanese hollow-body and a worthwhile restoration candidate.
