Most people know the details on these.....Kurt Cobain used one....blah....blah....blah..... Here's what most people DON'T know about these things......this was the first successful attempt at getting Fender, Marshall and Mesa Boogie tones in one box. The sounds in this box are different than the amp sims of modern times........the Sansamp is ANALOG. Digital wasn't ready for prime time in the late 80's, so that's one reason this unit is very different from today's technology. I used this unit strictly for recording - mostly on 4 and 8-track cassette! I was living in an apartment and couldn't crank up any amps so the Sansamp really did the job for me. Early adopters were Def Leppard, Kiss, Foreigner, Billy Squier and other (mostly) 80's rockers. The Sansamp has great FEEL. It's different than digital. I won't say better, but for some players, analog is the preference.

INSIDE TIPS: The Fender sounds in the Sansamp are highly underrated! The Sansamp does clean guitar sounds very well. Put a nice spring or plate reverb with the Fender settings and you'll be in Blackface territory. Crank the gain on the Fender setting to get into Tweed territory.
