For sale is an excellent condition 1960s Silvetone 1472 combo guitar amplifier (with original Jenson speaker). The amp is in excellent cosmetic condition, having just some slight wear to finish from decades of general light use. The amp is in perfect functioning condition, having been recently tested. Selling as I just don’t use the amp enough to justify the space it takes up in the collection.
This 10 watt little amp features an original 12-inch Jenson speaker, two 6V6GT power tubes, two 12AX7 preamp/phase inverter tubes, one 6AU6 tremolo tube, and one 6X4 rectifier tube, two channels with a total of three inputs (two instrument, one microphone, and separate volume and tone controls for each channel, plus speed and strength knobs for the tremolo.
Sonically speaking the amp has a dark, somewhat woolly clean tone that saturates into a great overdriven tone which blooms into a raunchy 1960s garage-rock fuzz when pushed. The tremolo is a deep, pulsing power-tube tremolo circuit designed by Danelectro. Ultimately a really great little studio/session or small club amp.
