Gretsch G6129 Silver Jet 1989 - Silver Sparkle

Here’s one you don’t see every day - an incredibly rare 1989 Silver Jet, from the first year Gretsch re-booted production at the Terada Japan plant. Gretsch just started reissuing the ‘89 models, so here’s your chance to grab one of the originals. The filter’tron humbuckers sound fantastic with lots of chime and clarity, they also take to drive very nicely. The U-shaped mahogany neck is a classic feel that’s comfortable in any playing position. Action is low and fast and tuning stability is excellent thanks to the “stoptail” trapeze tailpiece. The Pearloid hump inlays and large pre-Fender headstock all add to the vintage aesthetic, it’s a great package all around.

This one has been played, but is in very nice shape for its age. Frets are showing some very light wear in the lower three frets, but still have plenty of life. There’s a bit of buckle worming and light rash on the back of the body that can be seen in direct light, but nothing horrible. There are a couple small chips on the bottom back edge of the body and a handful of superficial marks here and there that can be expected of a nearly 40 year old guitar, but nothing major. No cracks, breaks or repairs and the guitar is all original. Factory Gretsch hard case is included as well.
