Es handelt sich um eine nahezu neuwertige und einzigartige STERLING by Music Man Albert Lee Gitarre. Ausgangspunkt war eine STERLING AL40p, folgende Modifikationen wurden professionell ausgeführt:
- Änderung der Korpusausfräsung für 3 Single Coil Pickups
- 3Ply WD Custom Pickguard
- FENDER Vintage Noiseless Pickups
- SCHALLER 5 Position Megaswitch
- SCHALLER 4+2 M6 Mini Klemm-Mechaniken
Das Instrument ist gut eingestellt, spielt sich sehr gut und klingt prima. Optisch Understatement pur: die extravagante und dabei extrem komfortable Korpusform, das schlichte Finish. Vibratohebel ist natürlich dabei, Versand in sicherer Polsterung und Gitarrenkarton ohne Tasche.
Die zahlreichen Upgrades rechtfertigen den Preis. Die Gitarre ist in ihrer Grundform bereits ein sehr, sehr gutes Instrument, die ursprünglichen P90 Pickups schränken jedoch das Klangspektrum unangemessen ein. Neupreis der Gitarre lag bei ca. 700€, für die ersetzten Komponenten waren noch einmal rund 300€ fällig plus Arbeitsstunden.
