Made in the late 70s in Japan, this vintage Iida 5-string resonator banjo stems from the golden era of Japanese instrument manufacturing. This model features the iconic stylized "Iida EST. 1958" pearloid script logo across the headstock and distinctive vintage block inlays along the fretboard. Built for projection, it incorporates a durable, integrated aluminum rim/tone ring pot assembly with 24 brackets to deliver a bright, punchy, and loud tone that cuts perfectly through bluegrass arrangements. In the hand, it feels solid, well-balanced, and reassuringly substantial without being overly heavy, thanks to the lightweight efficiency of its integrated aluminum rim. The neck has a comfortable, fast profile that fits naturally in your grip, allowing your hand to slide effortlessly up and down the register. It plays beautifully with a low, comfortable action across the frets, making it incredibly responsive whether you are practicing slow chord shapes or executing rapid three-finger bluegrass rolls.
