Here we have a very nice limited run ES-359 from the Gibson Memphis factory. It sports the timeless “Black Beauty” aesthetic with a black finish and gold hardware, along with the custom shop style binding, blocks and Diamond headstock inlay. The factory Bigsby adds some versatility to the 3-pickup layout and the rounded-C neck is very comfortable, slightly heftier than a 60’s style, but not as big as a 50’s neck. Even with all the extra hardware, weight is still a very light 7 pounds 5 ounces on my scale.

This one has been outfitted with a pair of Lambertone ”The Crema” humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions and they are glorious. Very smooth and clear in the top end with plenty of bite and grit from the lower registers. The master tone knob is a push-pull that brings in the middle pickup in any position. The other three knobs control volume on each pickup respectively. Middle pickup is the stock MHS II humbucker.

Condition-wise, it is in very good shape. It has been played. Black guitars show every little blemish and this one looks flawless from a foot or two away, but does have some minor signs of wear if you’re really hunting. There appears to be a touched up nick on one of the headstock horns, there’s a few small dings near the treble side f-hole and it has a handful of pen tip sized finish dimples throughout the body that can been seen up close in direct light, but were too small to photograph. Aside from that, just some light handling scratches that come with the black finish, overall it presents very well. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Original Gibson hard case is included as well.
