About This Model

The Paiste 505 is a vintage Swiss-made cymbal produced between 1978 and 1986, crafted from Paiste's 2002 Bronze (CuSn8 alloy). Its dual lathing follows a similar pattern to the 2002 series, but with simpler, evenly spaced coarse lathing and less extensive hammering, giving it a distinctive character: a bright, pingy stick sound with a somewhat glassy, dirty wash underneath. It sits in an interesting middle ground - crashable when pushed, yet focused enough for ride work across a range of styles, though it is best suited to moderate rather than extremely high-volume contexts. Weighing in the region of 2143-2268g, it has the substance expected of a full-size 20" ride.

A great opportunity to own a Paiste 505  Cymbal at this price point.
