IK Multimedia built the TONEX Board for players who wanted everything the TONEX ecosystem could do without giving up a real floorboard workflow. It is the biggest unit in the family, and it is the first one where you are not compromising on routing, screen size or switching to get the tone models.

The core is the same AI Machine Modeling that made the TONEX Pedal and TONEX One worth paying attention to, and every tone model you already own carries over. Presets built in TONEX for Mac and PC, on a TONEX One or on a TONEX Pedal load straight in. ToneNET adds tens of thousands more captures on top of that, free.

Where the Board separates itself is the routing. You get up to 12 effect slots with splitters and mixers, so you can run parallel chains instead of one straight line. The stereo FX loop drops in anywhere in the chain and splits into two independent mono loops if you would rather keep your real drives up front and your time-based stuff after the amp block. Dual stereo outputs let you send a cab-simulated signal to front of house and a dry signal to your amp at the same time.

Three workflow modes cover how you actually use it. Preset mode for song-by-song changes, Scene mode for sections inside a song, and Stomp mode when you want the switches to behave like individual pedals. Storage is 180 presets across three setlists of 20 banks each, which is enough to keep a cover set, an original set and a studio bank loaded at once without reorganizing between gigs.

The 5 inch color touchscreen and five encoders mean you are editing on the unit instead of tethering to a laptop, though the TONEX Editor is there when you want deep control from a computer. Converters are 24-bit, 192 kHz with a 5 Hz to 24 kHz frequency response and 123 dB of dynamic range. VIR cabinet technology handles the speaker side, and the custom IR loader is there if you have IRs you already trust.
