ESP KH-3 Spider Kirk Hammett 30th Anniversary Guitar

The ESP KH-3 Spider is built for speed and aggression, with an extra-thin U-shaped neck and scalloped upper frets that eliminate friction during lead work and whammy bar abuse. This neck-thru-body construction channels the raw touring instrument that defined Metallica's 90s sound, combining professional-grade electronics and hardware with the aggressive aesthetic Kirk Hammett demanded.

Playability & Build

The three-piece maple neck with extra-thin U-shaped profile and 24.75" scale delivers rapid position changes and sustained clarity across high-gain passages. Scalloped frets from position 17–24 on the Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets provide unobstructed access to upper registers, while the neck-thru-body construction locks in maximum sustain and resonance through the full frequency range.

Tone & Electronics

The EMG Bonebreaker signature pickup set delivers articulate, high-output aggression essential for modern metal, powered by active electronics with independent Volume/Volume/Tone/Toggle Switch layout. The Floyd Rose 1000 bridge with 42mm locking nut maintains tuning stability through extreme whammy bar work and aggressive bends without slip.
