Michigan Synth Works Beehive (8HP Plaits)

2022 Michigan Synth Works Beehive 8HP Plaits, [black / natural]

Michigan Synth Works Beehive, 8HP. Bought new in 2022. No marks on the panel or around the jacks, all functions working.

Beehive is an 8HP build of Mutable Instruments' open-source Plaits, made by Michigan Synth Works under the CC-BY-SA licence. It is not a Mutable product. Support questions go to Michigan Synth Works. Firmware is fully up to date. Selling because I am not using it - includes the original box & ribbon cable.

Posted from Victoria, or collect from Portarlington on the Bellarine.

Notes from Michigan Synth Works:

8HP micro module based on Opensource Plaits.

Notes from Mutable Instruments, on the original Plaits:

Plaits is a macro-oscillator with 16 synthesis models, pitched and percussive.

Pitched models: two detuned virtual analog oscillators with continuously variable waveforms; variable slope triangle oscillator processed by a waveshaper and wavefolder; 2-operator FM with continuously variable feedback path; two independently controllable formants modulated by a variable shape window; 24-harmonic additive oscillator; wavetable oscillator with four banks of 8x8 waves; chord generator with divide-down string/organ emulation or wavetables; speech synthesis algorithms with phoneme control and formant shifting.

Noise and percussion models: granular sawtooth or sine oscillator with variable grain density; clocked noise processed by a variable shape resonant filter; 8 layers of dust/particle noise processed by resonators or all-pass filters; extended Karplus-Strong, excited by bursts of white or dust noise; modal resonator, excited by a mallet or dust noise; analog kick drum emulation, two flavours; analog snare drum emulation, two flavours; analog hi-hat emulation, two flavours.
