The “Reggae Master” has now firmly established itself as a staple in Moon’s lineup. Since its debut in 1981, it has been loved by a wide range of players and continues to earn high praise for its distinctive look and versatile, user-friendly sound.

We’ve taken a custom order for this Reggae Master at our store! Drawing inspiration from its TL body, we’ve crafted a “thin-line” style—a design that feels familiar yet unique!

We’ve produced this model several times in the past, and it’s been extremely well-received each time. Although we typically make about six guitars per batch, none have ever remained in stock for very long.

It seems to have recently been officially added to the lineup, but production numbers remain quite low.

The model we’ve just received is in the “Snow White” color. In addition to its pure white finish, the gold hardware and black plastic parts combine to create an exquisite, stylish look that exudes both luxury and sophistication!

In terms of wood specifications, it features an ash body, a maple neck, and a maple fingerboard. While the standard Reggae Master features a mahogany body and rosewood fingerboard, these changes result in a tone with even greater clarity.

Not only is the construction inherently lightweight, but by using high-quality, lightweight ash—a material that has become increasingly scarce in recent years—we’ve achieved a wonderful sense of heft.

To ensure modern playability while maintaining a relatively traditional look, we’ve adopted a flat fingerboard with a 305mmR radius.

You can expect smooth sustain without any sound drop-off during bends.

It’s a small detail, but we had the so-called “moony” logo applied.

We occasionally use this on custom orders at our shop, so you’ll notice a unique vibe that sets it apart from others.

By equipping the guitar with the original H.Y.G. DX soapbar-style pickup, it achieves a high-quality sound that combines the rich midrange and warmth inherent to the semi-hollow body design

with the tightness and agility unique to single-coil pickups.

It also delivers the power characteristic of a soapbar-style pickup, enabling both choppy, aggressive playing and long, resonant sustain.

Since this model features an ash body, the tone is even crisper and more defined.

It’s crafted to accommodate a wide variety of playing styles.

And above all, its most distinctive feature is that everything—from the base coat to the top coat—is finished with an ultra-thin lacquer.

This ultra-thin finish maximizes the natural resonance of the wood, and the overwhelming response—especially in clean to driven tones—is something that’s not easily replicated.

This finish perfectly aligns with Moon’s core concept of “bringing out the natural resonance of the wood,” allowing you to feel those vibrations throughout your entire body.

Since it’s an ultra-thin lacquer finish, you can naturally expect it to change over time and with use.

Even the slightest impact can easily cause scratches or chipping, so the more you play it, the more it evolves into a guitar with a truly magnificent character.

It captures even the player’s subtle playing nuances, making it a guitar that’s a real joy to play!
