This particular MJS2/R features the timeless and exceptionally well-matched combination of a White Blonde finish and Gold Anodized pickguard.

Rather than completely covering the body in solid white, the White Blonde finish allows the grain of the ash body to subtly show through. Combined with the distinctive metallic texture of the Gold Anodized pickguard, it creates a look that feels both vintage-inspired and refined.

Unlike flashy gold-plated hardware, the anodized pickguard has a more subdued metallic character. It provides just enough contrast to the soft tone of the White Blonde finish, while its appearance changes subtly depending on the angle and lighting.

The body is made from ash, paired with a maple neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard.

Ash is known for its pronounced grain pattern, making it an especially attractive choice for translucent finishes like this one. Since the natural character of the wood remains visible through the White Blonde finish, each individual instrument has its own unique appearance.

Tonally, this guitar has plenty of body while maintaining a tight and focused response.

The guitar is equipped with HOTROD 60'S JM pickups.

They provide the wide, crisp character associated with offset-style guitars, while the Series/Parallel switch allows for a significant change in tonal character.

In Parallel mode, the sound is open, articulate, and lively. Switching to Series mode adds noticeably more body and power. Combined with the High-pass and Low-pass filters, as well as the standard Volume and Tone controls, the guitar offers an impressively wide range of sounds directly from the instrument itself.

It sounds excellent played clean with plenty of articulation, but pairing it with fuzz or heavier distortion is also highly recommended for bringing out its gritty, harmonic-rich character.

In terms of playability, momose has incorporated a number of thoughtful modern features without compromising the traditional offset silhouette.

The MS-type bridge helps reduce strings slipping out of position, while the recessed neck plate area provides improved comfort and access. These details address some of the common concerns associated with vintage-style offset guitars while maintaining their classic appearance.

Visually, it remains unmistakably traditional.

But once you start playing it, it feels like a thoroughly modern instrument.

That excellent balance is one of the greatest strengths of the MJS series.
