The Gladio SC (single channel) offers the sound of its big brother the Gladio in a smaller, compact enclosure. Where the double-channel Gladio was inspired by players like Robben Ford and Sonny Landreth, the SC steps closer to the Stevie Ray Vaughan sound - also achieved through a Dumble amplifier.
The Gladio SC is built on the Gladio's first channel, with the same sound and controls plus a new CLEAN knob. The clean signal is taken directly at the pedal input and mixed back in at the output, giving a clean layer on top of the overdrive that does a great deal of the work in reaching that Texas blues voice.
The CLEAN control moves three parameters at once:
- Bottom end - the sound becomes fatter
- Compression - the uncompressed clean signal enters the mix, most noticeable on the attack
- Saturation - the output runs hotter and pushes the front end of the amp harder
