The 1981 Inventions DRV combines a distortion circuit with a preamp boost circuit in one enclosure. The distortion side handles low-gain punch through high-gain saturation, while the boost adds clarity and volume without coloring the tone. An internal voltage doubler runs the circuit at 18V from a standard 9V supply for increased headroom. The pedal uses a buffered bypass topology. Controls include separate gain and level knobs for the distortion section plus a boost level control. The internal voltage regulator allows the pedal to operate at higher voltage for improved dynamics and clarity.
