Up for sale is an uninstalled pair of modern classic EMG X-Series active pickups: the EMG 89X (Bridge) and the EMG 89X-R (Neck). This is an open-box set that has been opened for inspection. Both pickup units are completely unmounted, unwired, and pristine.
The X-Series preamp bridges the gap between active and passive feel, delivering an organic, open tone with increased headroom while keeping the legendary noise-free operation of active pickups. Both models house separate internal single and dual-coil preamps for ultimate tone-splitting versatility:
• EMG 89X (Bridge Position): Packs the high-output punch of an 85X humbucker, splitting into an incredibly articulate, sparkling single-coil.
• EMG 89X-R (Neck Position): Features reversed internal coils specifically to place the single-coil mode directly under the neck harmonic "sweet spot" for warm, chimey cleans, alongside a fat humbucker voice.
Condition:
Excellent open-box condition. Unused, uninstalled, and stored carefully in a clean, smoke-free home.
