Charvel Fusion Deluxe

for sale is a classic 1989 Charvel Fusion Deluxe in original Magenta, built at the Chushin Gakki factory in Japan.

I bought this guitar at the Sam Ash in Cherry Hill, New Jersey back in February 1997 and have owned and cared for it for the last 29 years. It has been a reliable, fantastic-playing instrument, but it is time to pass it along to the next owner.

Playability, and structural performance remain excellent. The Fusion series is famous for pairing a short 24.75" scale length with 24 frets on a fast, compact Dinky body shape. This example features the classic late-'80s "toothpaste" script logo on the natural maple headstock, alongside the factory "Made in Germany by Schaller" double-locking tremolo stamped with the Jackson logo.

Pickups & Upgrades:

Bridge Pickup: Upgraded to a late-1990s Seymour Duncan JB after the original bridge pickup stopped working back in 1999. The original Jackson J-90C pickup cover is included if you want to swap it back onto a classic build.

At the same time it was in the shop, I also upgraded the neck pickup to a Seymour Duncan SSL-4 Quarter Pounder in the angled neck position for incredible clarity, punch, and output.

Included Extras: The original stock neck pickup is uninstalled but included in the sale, along with the original J-90C bridge pickup cover.  

Condition:

Overall in very good shape for a 37-year-old shredder. The neck, rosewood fretboard, headstock, and frets are all in great shape. The finish retains a deep gloss throughout. There are a few light cosmetic edge dings and shallow finish impressions, all of which are clearly documented in the close-up photos. No cracks in the neck pocket or headstock tip.
