Kaosamp Hatred 50 Custom 2018 - Custom

These are meticulously handbuilt in Hungary by Akos, in my opinion he's one of the most underrated amp builders and brands possibly ever and while they have a stellar reputation, you do not see them pop up very often here in the States.

I believe I am the second owner of this amp, it was a custom order for someone in Seattle in 2021 delivered in 2022. It features a custom tolex job and is quite heavy due to the solid steel cylinders the previous owner had installed across the front. These could easily be pulled and swapped for a traditional faceplate, but I rather like the industrial aesthetic.

What really sets this amp apart is the immaculate handwiring and original circuit design.

Tonally, it captures the essence of a Diezel, a 5150, and an ENGL, but it definitely has a sound all its own. It is super tight and articulate with a massive, solid bottom end. It handles extended range guitars and low tunings perfectly without ever getting muddy. In fact, the low end is so robust and focused that you can even play bass through it.

The Channels:

Clean: The clean channel has a ton of headroom and a great crisp sound, pushing into a nice light breakup if you crank it. Hitting the "Low Octane" mode gets you into classic rock and punchy crunch territory.

Lead: This channel gives you the signature Hatred high-gain sound. It is aggressive, features more gain on tap than you could possibly need, and stays incredibly tight and highly saturated to cut right through the mix.

Specs & Details:

Power: 50 Watts. Currently running a pair of 6L6s, but the octal sockets will happily accept EL34, KT77, 6CA, KT66, or KT88s if you want to experiment with the power section flavor. It features a built-in bias control, so you just have to rebias when swapping tubes.

Preamp: 4x 12AX7/ECC83.

Phase Inverter: 1x 12AT7/ECC81 (can easily swap for an ECC82 or ECC83 to change the feel).

Controls: Two independent EQs (Bass, Middle, Treble). The gain channel features its own dedicated feedback and presence knobs to really dial in the feel, plus a high-frequency "HICUT" to easily tame the top end.

Extras: Footswitchable lead boost on the dirty channel to jump out of the mix, plus a series/parallel effects loop.

Outputs: 4, 8, & 16 Ohm jacks.

Aesthetics: Custom teal and black snakeskin style tolex with green and red knobs.

The wiring is incredibly clean, and it is a killer, entirely unique amp with its own circuit not copied by somethig else.
