Peter Frampton - John Siomos Snare Drum

Here is a rare opportunity to own John Siomos‘ snare drum that was “ custom made “ for him by Paul Jamison. John Siomos was Peter Frampton's drummer from 1973-1977 and is on the best selling live album of all time Frampton Comes Alive. This has a serial number of 003 on the badge making it only the third custom snare done by Paul. The snare itself is a Gretsch 5.5x14 Name Band. The silver sealer on the inside was removed, all screws were replaced with Allen screws. The Micro-Sensitive strainer was replaced with a Rogers Clockface. The Gretsch butt plate was also replaced with a Rogers butt plate. Both of those replacements left extra holes. The badge / plate that Paul put on the drum reads “Custom Made for John Siomos by Paul Jamison 12-76 #003”. I cleaned the dirt and grime off the drum but left the battle scars. There is a lot of pitting on the hardware especially the top hoop. I’ve owned this drum for 20 years and I’m at an age now that I need to move some of my collection along.
