Vintage 1950's Shure Brothers S36 microphone desk stand silver 55 55S 737A 708A # 5

 You are looking at an older 1950's era Shure Brothers S-36 model microphone desk stand that will compliment most any older pre 1960 screw on type Shure mic you have as well as all mic clips. It will make a very nice platform for your Shure 55 or 55S microphone but again, you can technically use any Shure mic that is pre 1960. It comes with a mounting bolt for a microphone, bottom pads, cable clamp and original push to talk mechanism.

 Pic # 2 shows a 1945 Shure catalog with this particular stand. The last two pics show a Shure 51 model mic mounted to this stand though that mic is not included. 

 Pics # 10, 11 & 12 shows what a Shure 55S looks like on the S36 model stand.

 The S-36 model was the most common desk stand sold by Shure from the late 1930's to 1960 and could be used with almost all Shure model microphones utilizing the lower pistol grip. The S-36 is a lite weight design with a low center of gravity and a classic deco vibe. Very sleek and modern for it's time.

 The S-36 was an all aluminum body being virtually corrosion proof and comes with a beautiful silver / grey painted finish. The paint is very nice with a minimum of wear. You'll see there is a very small ding in pic # 6.

 Because this stand has the Evanston label it was actually made sometime between 1956 and 1960. The Chicago label stands were made between 1939 and 1956.

 The "push to talk" mechanism is not currently wired. It could be with a little work and know how. The 5 original rubber pads were missing so 5 new felt pads were applied and do the job well. The cable clamp is original and used to secure any cable that runs through the base of this stand.

 This particular S-36 stand has no corrosion on the bottom of the stand. I'd rate the true condition a true 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. 

 This S-36 is appx 3 inches tall X 5 inches wide X 7 inches deep. Just needs your favorite Shure mic to mount on top of.
