Stratocaster pickguard with Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups and Ibanez 5-way switching

I love the way my Ibanez RG's are wired, and learned (the hard way) it's not a typical 5-way switch. This pickguard is wired exactly the same as an Ibanez RG with 2 humbuckers. (see pic) The bridge humbucker is "F-spaced" for correct string alignment.

This has a Fender Soft-Touch tone knob for the volume (EVH style). It's rubberized, and super-easy to do volume swells with.

I installed this on my Ultra Luxe Stratocaster (see pic), but decided to put the original pickguard back. I realized I already have quite a few 2 humbucker guitars.

This mint/black/mint colored pickguard was purchased from Warmoth, and has an Ibanez 3PS1SC5 5-way switch, a CTS 450S4072 500K Ohm Short Split Audio Taper Potentiometer, and a .180pF treble bleed capacitor, which maintains the treble nicely when rolling off the volume.

Heavy duty aluminum foil has carefully been applied to the entire pickguard with sprayed-on Gorilla Glue. This completely eliminates any pickguard ESD noise. I've tried the same with copper-foil tape with conductive glue, and it was not nearly as effective as this.

You just need to solder the hot wire to the output jack, and the ground wire to the body shielding, the bridge, and the output jack.

This pickguard kicks some serious booty if you like hard rock/metal. Each switch position is hum/noise free, but you can still get some pretty convincing single-coil tones.
