Handwired USA-built 35-watt Plexi-style head by Greg Germino. Same Lead circuit as the Lead 55 / ’68 JMP 50 (1987 split-cathode), with a custom Heyboer Trainwreck/Stancor-style OT wound for 35 watts. Full Plexi crunch and touch at club volume instead of 50/100W levels.
Specs • ~35 watts • Lead circuit (’68 Plexi 50 / JMP 1987 values) • Typical tubes: 2 power tubes + 3 x 12AX7 (often JJ EL34L or Tung-Sol 5881 from factory; Mullard 12AX7s common) • Power tubes can be swapped without impedance mismatch (rebias only): EL34, 6CA7, KT77, 6L6GC, 5881, KT66, 6V6 • Heyboer PT: ~370 VDC with GZ34 tube rectifier or ~380 VDC solid-state • Heyboer Trainwreck/Stancor replica OT, 35W • NOS tube sockets, film/foil coupling caps (often NOS Mallory), CTS pots, Cliff jacks • Turret boards made in-house from UK material • Post-phase-inverter master volume optional / often included • Tube rectifier and rectifier switch optional • Head dimensions: 26" x 9" x 8.375" • Made in USA
Classic late-60s Lead Plexi tone — crunch, harmonics, guitar-volume cleanup — at a more usable wattage. PPIMV (if present) lets you get that grind without an attenuator.
