most of you are too young to know who Batt Masterson was, but he was a famous law man. I call this one Blatt Masterson because of the tone it achieves in a bass trombone. It is indeed a rather rude bass trombone mouthpiece.
It started Life as a b-flat tuba mouthpiece, and during a time when I had not yet developed my full low range, I had the shank machine down so that it would fit a bass trombone receiver. This thing is huge, deep, and guaranteed to add a few notes at the bottom of your range, and to remove twice as many at the top. I was cleaning out the mouthpiece drawer and I thought someone might be able to have fun with it.
