The Rattler Bass Distortion

The Rattler Bass delivers fat, creamy bass distortion with the headroom, articulation and low-end authority modern players need. A custom discrete-component op-amp preserves the open, dynamic feel of the original LM308-based circuit, while clean blending and a second gain stage keep every note defined.

Use the Mix control to restore exactly as much dry signal as the part requires, from full distortion to parallel grit with a solid fundamental. The dedicated HIGH GAIN footswitch adds instant saturation for heavier sections and lead moments. Clickless switching and programmable startup states make the Rattler Bass as stage-friendly as it is expressive.

Custom discrete op-amp
A proprietary discrete-component design preserves the open, dynamic and tube-amp-like response associated with the discontinued LM308.

Clean blend
Mix sets the ratio of clean and distorted signals, retaining low-end impact and note definition at heavier
gain settings.

Footswitchable high gain
The left footswitch activates a higher-gain stage for instant bursts of added saturation.

Controls and startup

• Level sets output, Gain controls saturation, Tone shapes the response and Mix blends clean and distorted signals.
• Effect and high-gain startup states can be saved independently by reconnecting power while holding the corresponding footswitch.
