It had a professional service a few days ago, I play tested it several times after that, and it’s in tune. Tone holes are in great shape. Pads are sealing with no leaks. The sound has that Cannonball character — a little more edge and color than a stock Yamaha student alto, with enough body in the low end and a clear top.

The keywork feels even and the springs are lively without being harsh. Soft playing still speaks, and it stays together when you dig in. Nothing in the range feels lopsided. After the service and those extra play tests, it doesn’t feel like it needs another trip to the shop before someone uses it.
