1938 Martin 000-18 serial number: 7156x very good condition with original finish.

This is the best sounding & playing 000-18 I’ve found in over 30 years of hunting from LA to NYC. Close grained Adirondack Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, Ebony fretboard and bridge. The fretboard is in very good to excellent condition, slight wear between the 2 & 3rd string at the 1st fret. 24.9” scale length. Excellent neck reset and frets, plays and sounds great. The neck angle is ideal. Nut width is 1 3/4”, soft V-shaped neck, typical of the era, the original finish in excellent condition, with slight wear behind the 1st fret. Feels phenomenally good. Original bridge with unslotted pins. The original Grover tuners are in excellent condition. The sound is big & sweet, great for fingerstyle as well as flatpicking & slide. Currently set up with D’Addario J-16 (.012-.053) strings with the high E 5/64” at the 12th fret and low E at 3/32”. Weighs 3lbs 11ozs. The case is a recent SCC hardshell with maroon plush interior. PS: I'm selling some special guitars up here strictly to pay off some wopping medical debt. At the end of Dec. '23 I had a catastrophic eye trauma and both my retinas detached. I had 5 eye surgeries in 2024 and ended up legally blind in my left eye with medical debt over $20k. Out of work for 10 weeks, added more credit debt. I figured I'd never sell this guitar unless I needed to put together a house down payment, or move into assisted living (!)
