I have owned this for 20 years, and I am not a drummer, I just have a little set to jam on occasionally. As far as I know the only thing ever changed on this drum was the top head. The bottom one is original. I have never polished it, or disassembled it. It has been lightly used over the years. It weighs a lot, and I had to buy a special heavy duty stand to hold it. I will include the stand of course. The brass has some small brown spots where the metal has patina on it. This would polish off, but with old stuff, I like to see that patina so I have let it age like fine wine.
