Yamaha YSS-475 Soprano Saxophone – Near Mint Condition, Freshly Serviced, Perfectly In Tune, Ready to Play, Priced to Sell

I just finished getting this Yamaha YSS-475 soprano ready, and it’s a clean one. Cosmetically you’re only looking at a few ordinary scuffs and scratches. No heavy wear, no ugly surprises. It came back from a professional service a few days ago, I play tested it several times after that, and it’s sitting right where it should be. Perfectly in tune. Tone holes are in great shape. Pads are sealing the way they should with no leaks anywhere I could find. On the stand it has that clear Yamaha soprano sound — centered, not shrill, and it still has enough body when you push it.

What I noticed most is how little work it asks of you. The keys feel even and the spring tension is snappy without being stiff. Soft stuff speaks instead of stalling, and the top end doesn’t thin out or go wild. Intonation stays usable through the range, which is the whole point on a soprano. After the service and those extra play tests, it just feels finished. You can put it together and play.

These 475 sopranos sit in that nice Yamaha middle ground. They’re a real step past a student horn, but they’re still practical for school, doubling, or someone who wants a dependable soprano they can actually live with. A lot of people keep them because they stay in line and don’t turn into a project.
