Very Very Special!!

This was Tommy Occchiuto's personal soprano mouthpiece!! Tommy refaced another soprano piece for me that he liked so well that we traded! Tommy is a working Pro musician and a top notch player, (Refacing is his side job....). This is a PLAYER!! It works most favorably on older vintage sopranos as the tuning remains spot on thru-out all r

These are fairly rare to find in this condition and is also sought after as a Collector's piece. It is a real beauty and comes with a nice cap and ligature to go with it. It is marked with the more favored "Artistic Facing" and has a small metal band around the shank that is original.

Here's some Lelandais history:

Vintage A. Lelandais soprano saxophone mouthpieces (such as the Qualité Supérieure) are rare, highly collectible hard-rubber pieces crafted in Paris during the mid-20th century.

History and Background

    • Origin: A. Lelandais was a prominent Paris-based woodwind mouthpiece maker that operated through the post-WWII era and into the 1970s.
    • Connection to Chedeville: In 1949, Lelandais acquired the renowned Charles Chedeville Company and utilized remaining high-grade rod rubber and vintage blank stocks into the early 1950s.
    • Legacy: The company's remnants were eventually bought by Glotin in the 1970s, making original vintage Lelandais pieces increasingly scarce today.

Sound and Playing Characteristics

    • Tone Quality: Known for producing a warm, focused, and balanced old-school tone with powerful resonance.
    • Craftsmanship: Vintage hard-rubber models feature responsive baffle and chamber geometries that invite rich overtones and core flexibility.
