2024 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition ’53 Telecaster Relic – Antique White

This 2024 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition ’53 Telecaster Relic is a fantastic example of a ’50s-inspired Tele, combining a lightweight ash body, a beautifully figured AA maple neck, hand-wound Texas Special pickups, and a very cool Aged Antique White finish.

The factory relic work is especially well done, with tasteful lacquer checking and natural-looking wear that gives the guitar the character and feel of a well-loved vintage Telecaster. The guitar is in excellent overall condition with no wear beyond the intentional Custom Shop relic treatment. The electronics function flawlessly, and it delivers the classic Telecaster combination of snap, twang, clarity, and punch. Includes Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, Shop floor traveller and pictured case candy.

This guitar was part of Fender Custom Shop’s 2023 Spring Limited Edition Event, with build completion in April 2024. It’s a particularly cool take on the early-’50s Telecaster, with a great combination of vintage-inspired specifications and Custom Shop appointments.

The Hand-Wound Texas Special pickups are a standout feature, offering a powerful and articulate take on classic Tele tone. The lightweight two-piece ash body and ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish contribute to an incredibly lively and responsive feel.

Visually, the combination of Aged Antique White, a gold anodized relic pickguard, and the figured AA maple neck gives this Tele a distinctive look without straying too far from its vintage roots.

The neck features Fender’s comfortable ’52-style “U” profile, a 9.5" radius, and 21 Narrow Tall/6105 frets. The back of the neck has been left unfinished as part of the relic treatment, providing an exceptionally smooth, broken-in feel.
